Can you guess from these photos?
What do you think?
Do you have any preferences?
I plan to lay them out and then take photos so I’ll show you when I’ve done that.
In the meantime, I went to Craft Depot yesterday and bought this fabric (for $7.95 per metre!) which just begged to be the backing for this quilt. Do you agree?
Well I’ve sewn all the patches I had cut for my In a Spin quilt. The question now is “Where to from here?”. Here’s what it looks like at the moment.
Here is a list of alternatives I have open to me:
- cut extra patches to finish the half blocks around the edge and make the other two patches of each square the same colour as the border so that the spinning blocks appear to float.
- cut extra patches to finish the blocks and have a “jagged edge” which is then appliqued to the border fabric.
- just put some borders on it as it is
Did you notice in the photo I posted of my progress on the In a Spin quilt that I made a mistake? Well I did. Take a look…
The yellow square marks the place where I used the wrong patch! Of course I didn’t realise till I had sewn two more squares and I was sewing them together and realised they didn’t match. So some reverse sewing was done! Unfortunately that’s not my only recent mistake…
