I was looking at Nola’s InchTextiles blog yesterday and she had written a great piece about playing with photos.
This tied in with some quilts I saw at the Qulit Show yesterday. There were several small quilts that had been made based on different treatments of the same image. They were really fascinating.
I was intrigued and decided to have ago myself. My image software wouldn’t do many of the things that Nola’s did but it did have some different options and I had fun playing with a couple of flower images I had taken.

inWe’re all familiar with Mothers’ Day which is celebrated all over the world, albeit at different times. In the UK there is Mothering Sunday which is celebrated in Lent and in the US and Australia it’s celebrated in May. Anyway whatever the culture or country, mothers have a special place. The Prophet Muhammad said that Paradise lies beneath the feet of mothers. How beautiful is that?
Anyway speaking as a mother who lives just about as far away as is possible from her daughter and granddaughter I was extremely delighted when my doorbell rang at 10 am today and these gorgeous flowers and a lovely card arrived. Thank you darlings. XXX
And Happy Mothers’ Day to all mothers the world over.
