I’ve been quite good recently but the last few weeks I have splashed out and bought a bit of fabric. First I saw Malka Dubrawsky’s Simple Marks and I was really taken with the possibilites for this range so I bought a fat quarter bundle in the Summer colourway. (See above and below).
I also found the Earth colourway yesterday on Fifi’s fabricology for 30% off Moda and free shipping on orders over $50 so I’m looking forward to that arriving soon.
Then my daughter asked me to make her a quilt and said she liked Cath Kidston fabrics! Look I know lots of you out there like her stuff but it really isn’t my cup of tea at all. The saving grace was that I couldn’t buy them here and in England they are hideously expensive (to me anyway). So I suggested French Hatbox. Also not my cup of tea but liveable with. Here’s the quilt I have designed for it and below are the actual fabrics. The colours didn’t turn out great in the photo – sorry.
I have a real problem… I like all fabrics. There are really few that I can’t envision in a quilt. Anyway, love all of the above.
Hi Munaiba. Where did you get the Malka Dubrawski’s fabric (summer range) please.
I love your fabric choices. It seems that children of quilters are far more conservative in their fabric choices than their quilter parent is!
Ooh, I had trouble resisting Simple Marks when I saw it in a quilt shop recently. But now I’ve seen the full colour range it will be even harder.
Oh my, I think this is getting serious! Those are absolutely wonderful!
I love the ones you bought yourself! They didn’t appeal to me before, but they look different in your picture…….lol. I also don’t care for pastel, frou frou girly fabrics, but I stumbled across a bundle at Skye Reve fabrics the other day that called my name….lol. Be brave, you’ll have those girly fabrics done and on their way to the UK before you know it….. 😎
You MUST find a way of putting a zinger fabric into your daughter’s quilt… just to make sure she knows it is from you. 🙂
Love those fabrics – truthfully love most fabric and if its not MY style I can always think of someone who would love it… Takes real self control to keep to the plan and finish the WIP and the planned projects that I already bought fabric for… Then again, my Mom sent me a hunk of her stash – helped take the edge off 🙂
Neat fabrics you ought to comme up with some fantastice something. Christiane Carcan
