I’ve been trialling backgrounds for the Camelot quilt. Take a look at the photos then have your say by voting in the poll at the bottom.
Here are some photos with the grey with the white dots.
The next photos only show three blocks across because I was trialling different fabrics under each block. A series of fabrics with the pale turquoise and white.
And here are some photos using the Painter’s Canvas in Black.
I see that the vote for the grey w/white dots is 100% of the votes! Pay no attention to the fact that I’m the only one who’s voted so far……lol

Wow! I really love the opalescent look of the pale turquoise but obviously I’m way in the minority!
It is amazing how different the blocks look with such different background fabrics! Good luck with your choice!
They all look lovely but my favorite is the black canvas. The colours really pop.
I thought I would like the grey with white dots (because you know I love that fabric), but the black painters canvas just works best with your block IMHO.
They are certainly stunning on the darker background.
I think the darker color, the black, sets the blocks off the best. It helps you see all of the detail in the blocks.
Trust your first choice and go with the black. It’s just stunning with the black.
I like the black too. But how about a dark gray instead?
The painter’s canvas in black got my vote. I also like Annette’s idea of a dark gray.
The black got my vote too, but I also liked the grey with the white dots. A darker background really seems to make those blocks pop out, whereas the lighter background doesn’t seem to do too much for them.
For my eyes the black fabric is the best choice. It lets your stars dazzle on the dark night sky. Looking forward to see you quilt finished!
