My soon-to-be son-in-law Gary likes to watch movies on the TV. So I’m making him a blanket with a movie theme. I had to break my fabric fast as I didn’t have any movie themed fabric so I’m waiting for this to arrive but in the interim I’ve pieced the name GAZ using Elizabeth Hartman’s Fridge Magnets Alphabet pattern and embroidered a shirt pocket with a Hollywood star. The pocket will hold the remote. I’ve bought some lovely soft, warm, white spotted red minky for the back which I’ll show you when I get all the fabrics.
In the meantime here’s what I’ve done so far.
Congratulations on the soon-to-be son-in-law! This means you get to see your daughter and granddaughter, right?! What fun. I can’t wait to see the fabric that’s coming. I like the letters. I would never have thought to use that pattern for something like that. You inspire me…8-). The ‘star’ pocket for the remote is a very clever idea. Red minky sounds really plush. I have some green minky to back a quilt with. I’m just waiting for the weather to cool off and STAY cool before I can work on it. They say this has been the third hottest summer on record for the United States. Lucky us, record breakers. I’m not a hot weather person. We did have a little rain and two days of cooling off, but it’s warmed up again. At least my car got washed.

Thanks Linda. Yes, hopefully I will be visiting for the wedding. 🙂
