If you’ve been reading Sewjournal for a while you’ll know that my favourite fabric designers are Kaffe Fassett, Brandon Mably and Philip Jacobs. Their fabrics are available just about everywhere but you can find them all together at www.gloriouscolor.com. Kim McLean’s stunning appliqué patterns are to be found there too. But, as they say in the TV ads, that’s not all…
Keiko Goke
Keiko Goke, as her name suggests, is Japanese and she designs stunning contemporary fabrics. Keiko’s fabrics are also available from the Glorious Color website. I’ve admired her fabrics before when I’ve visited but her Spring Collection this time has me wishing I weren’t on a fabric fast! Some of these latest fabrics remind me of the Gee’s Bend quilts. Anyway I was so taken with them that I wrote to Glorious Color to ask if I could use their photos to show them to you and they kindly agreed. They also told me that last year they donated all of the profits from Keiko’s fabric sales back to her as she was in the place that was hardest hit by the earthquake and tsunami. Wasn’t that nice? Anyway without further ado here are some of Keiko’s Spring Collection. Enjoy!
Log Cabin
These Log Cabin fabrics have that same “slub” look that the Painter’s Canvas fabrics I got for my birthday have. Wouldn’t I just love to put them together into a quilt?!!
Pocket Diary
More to come…
I’ll show you some more of Keiko Goke’s stunning fabrics in my next post. In the meantime if you’d like to buy some then you can get them at the Glorious Color Website. (no affiliations or brown paper bags just a big fan of their designers.)
The Log Cabin prints are nice, but the Pocket Diary prints really call my name! Of course, I clicked on your link. I don’t know why I do that………. I haven’t bought anything yet, but I might go back. Sigh…….
Some months ago I spent way too much time at Glorious Color browsing through the online selection but I haven’t been back recently, this might be the excuse I need, there are some gorgeous prints there.
wow! I don’t think I’ve seen anything like those at our LQS here.
I really like the Marcia Derse fabric they have right now too. Also very modern.
I really like the Marcia Derse fabrics on that site too.
(Third try to comment – it doesn’t like me today)
