I wasn’t going to quilt the wall hanging. My plan was to just sew a backing to it and then turn it inside out, hand sew the small opening and just have it as two layers of fabric. So much for plans. I guess that’s how almost all of my projects go. Even if I do have firm ideas to begin with they seem to take on a life of their own and evolve as I work on them. That’s what happened here. The wall hanging just demanded to be quilted, and not just a little quilting here and there either! I’ve chosen 3.5cm squares and I’m planning to hand-quilt it. Wish me luck!
I’m using the lovely Freudenberg Quiltlite batting for this and a marbled “mushroomy pink” for the backing. And “yes” the dreaded safety pins are back.
On wall hanging, I often “sew a backing to it and then turn it inside out, hand sew the small opening ” and then quilt it. No binding that way.
I love the look of the quilt in the photo. Can we see a photo of the whole quilt please?
Bern in Australia
When it’s all finished I’ll post some photos
Have you ever tried thinsulate? The thinnest is just perfect for hangings and table runners and so easy to quilt through.
No I haven’t heard of that before.
I like the hanging lots. I can even see the letters, fantastic.
It’s lovely, Munaiba. What do the word/words(?) on the right say? You must be the world’s most patient person with all the handwork you do.

Hi Linda
The words are from the Chapter of the Quran called Mary (the mother of Jesus) and they say In the Name of God the Most Merciful the Most Compassionate.
Thanks for your kind words.
Cheers
