On Thursday I took all the papers out of the prayer quilt and on Friday I appliquéd it to a background. Then I sandwiched it and started quilting. Here’s a look at the quilt top after it was appliquéd. When I’ve done a bit more quilting I’ll take another photo.

Really beautiful!
Just lovely Munaiba.
geogeous as usual Munaiba
It looks lovely. Is it a quilt you kneel on?
I would give so much to be able to kneel again.

tells me cute story. So am not sewing.
I would really love to have your colour co-ordinating ability. It is coming to-gether beautifully.
Hi Munaiba,
This is just lovely. But I too would like to know more information on exactly What a Prayer Quilt is?
Hope to catch up with you soon –

Hi Ros and ozjane
What I call a prayer quilt is the quilted equivalent of a Muslim prayer rug. I made one before for my DH. You can see it here

The prayer quilt is lovely and I particularly like your unusual background fabric.
Looks terrific, Munaiba! Has the feel of some mosques I have seen, and yes, love the colours.
