Yesterday I made this Do Not Disturb door hanger.
The back started life as a third of a block from the Millenium Quilt. While I really like the quilt I decided I didn’t want to make it any more. I sewed buttons on for the centre of the flowers.
The front is made from leftover strips of the It’s a Hoot quilt. With “DO NOT DISTURB” embroidered on the white strip. If you click on the photo you’ll get a larger one which is easier to see.
I’m pleased to be recycling a potential UFO and some leftovers. What do you think?
Fabulous! Great way to use up leftovers and get a project finished! When I first looked at the picture of your door hanger, I thought the strip with the words on it was a selvage from some fabric! Wouldn’t that be neat to find one that said Do Not Disturb?
Love the flowers with the buttons!

That is a great idea.
I made a Kindle holder on Friday from some leftover scraps.
Your sign is so lovely and colourful. It is great when we can make things up out of what we already have.

Thanks Alexis
What a great way to recycle and make stuff out of what you have or reuse it in another project. I am always so pleased when I can do something like that. Can’t let fabric go to waste! Brilliant indeed!!!
It’s lovely. It’s great to use up bits from your cupboard and to make something useful from them
Thanks Julie
I like it!
… now wouldn’t it be great if we could “recycle” our spare/wasted time that we didn’t use and then use it late on when we really could do with some more time for something?!
