Did I tell you I had started quilting the “Which way?” quilt?
Well I started a week or so ago and then had to put the machine away.
I managed to ditch stitch the block seams and then I did some of the decorative stuff. I’m going to try to finish it this week as I have friend coming from the US and I’ll have to pack the machine and all things sewing away so I can put up the guest bed.
I got sort of stymied as to how to quilt this so I had a go at drawing it out in EQ6. I’ve come up with a plan but it means undoing some quilting I’ve already done but who knows, it might teach me to plan properly in future, do you think??
Hi Munaiba
I think you are on the right track but why not continue the straight lines right through all the blocks until you meet the next pieced block and then change the direction of the straight lines. You could stay with horizontal and vertical lines or you could add some 45o angled lines. You’ll be amazed by the effect this causes.
You might need to take out some of the SID. IMO, definitely the end result will be better with all the quilt covered in quilting.
Thanks Barb. I’ve done another post on this and I’m currently re-drawing my pattern to see how this works out.
Thanks again
Munaiba
