I’ve joined another group quilt block sewing bee for a friend’s birthday. We were all give the fabric, the design and some variegated blue embroidery floss. I enjoyed doing this because it was a bit of challenge as I’m not really much of an embroiderer. I used my version of satin stitch for the outline. For the flowers I did a sort of chain or lazy daisy stitch – one on the outside and one on the inner. I tried to used different parts of the variegation so they would look more interesting. I hope it worked.

Don’t apologize for your stitching – it looks quite nice … and, yes, interesting, too!
Your friend should be thrilled – what a thoughtful gift! 🙂
