I’ve started another new handwork project. I’m using English paper piecing with tumbler blocks. This is sort of a “proof of concept” project and if it works I’ll make up a pattern for it. Here’s a photo of the work so far… Can you guess what it is? I’ll give you a clue, it’s not a quilt.
I think if you can guess at this stage you deserve a medal. I’m trying to construct an interestingly shaped door roll, to keep out the cold winds that currently roar under my front and garage doors. I call them draught excluders but I believe that’s the name for those rubber strips you put round your doors. Is there another name?
I would never have guessed so no medal for me. I think that’s looking like a clever project.

Nice tumblers. I especially like the Japanese fabrics. Draft stoppers?
Hi Janice
Yes, draught (Aussie spelling 🙂 ) stoppers sounds good to me.
Thanks

I know them as Draft Snakes!
Great name!

They were “door sausages” when I was a child. We had them on our front, side and back doors. If you make one for your garage door, you’re a braver man than I, Gunga Din. (too late in the week to remember spelling).
lol! I see what you mean. Let me clarify. By garage door I meant the door leading from my hallway into the garage not the large tilt-a-door. I give you permission to section me if I ever attempt that 🙂
