Camden Country Quilters’ Guild
Last night was the Guild meeting for the Camden Country Quilters. I only joined a couple of months ago but now I know a few people so it’s less intimidating than my first visit where I knew no one. They are all very talented and very friendly. I have made my name badge. I chose some appliqué and some lairy Kaffe Fasset fabric for it as this kind of represents what I like to do. I am actually starting to feel part of it all now instead of an outsider.
Last night the invited guest was Bernadette Thomas aka The Needlewitch. She spoke to us about antique sewing tools and brought with her a variety of lovely items from her shop which you could purchase if you had the funds.
Those antique Chatelaines are beautiful but very expensive. I think these beautiful tools convey an air of faded gentility and an era where people were not so pressed for time.
She also brought some Lea Stein brooches. I had never seen them before and thought they were just lovely. My favourite is the blue cat. She has many more listed on her website if you want to see them in more detail. I took some photos with my trusty phone so excuse the quality.
