Putting the Janome 3160QDC through its paces
Yesterday I just did some ordinary sewing on my new machine but today I thought I’d try out the walking foot and quilt the spring quadrant for my Kaffe For All Seasons quilt. The main difference I notice is that it is so much quieter than my old mechanical Bernina – but then to give it its due it is 36 years old!
I have to say that I wish I hadn’t started doing this in these straight lines. It is so boring! Oh well, onward and upward… I also vow never to baste another quilt with Basting Spray. It doesn’t stick and makes it very hard to quilt. Another “learning opportunity”! 🙂
I know some people really like it, but that’s my view of basting spray too… glad it’s not just me.
I don’t mind the basting spray for a little thing like a cushion but I don’t think I’d like it for a big quilt. It looks like your making the most of the new machine and the quilting looks great even if it is boring.
